PH Operations

How APB runs its Philippines operation and how the AU and PH teams work together as one firm. The operating reference for the cross-border way of working — employment specifics live in HR Docs.

What PH Operations Covers
The scope of this page — and the deliberate split from HR Docs.

APB operates across two countries: the Australian entity and a Philippines team engaged through Shore360. This page covers the operational side — how the two teams collaborate day-to-day: hours, the work split, rhythm, comms and handoffs. It's geography-first: read it to understand the PH way of working, not the legal employment detail.

Employment detail lives in HR Docs. The Shore360 / EOR mechanics — contracts, 13th-month pay, SSS / PhilHealth / Pag-IBIG, SIL leave — are in HR Docs → Regional Provisions. This page links to them rather than duplicating, so there's one source of truth.

The Shore360 / EOR Model
How the PH team is engaged, in brief.

APB's PH consultants are engaged through Shore360, an Employer of Record (EOR) in the Philippines: the consultant does APB's work to APB's standard, while Shore360 handles local employment, payroll and statutory compliance.

APB owns

The role, the work, the standard, the coaching and day-to-day management. PH consultants are APB consultants in everything operational.

Shore360 owns (EOR)

Local employment contract, payroll, statutory contributions (SSS / PhilHealth / Pag-IBIG), 13th-month pay and PH leave. See HR Docs → Regional Provisions.

Foundations
Same Role, Same Standard
The principle that holds the two-country firm together.

A PH consultant runs the same EC role, against the same Position Description and the same KPIs, as an AU consultant (see People & Structure — EC-PH PD). The standard, the playbooks (M1–M4) and the coaching (L1) are identical; the difference is the employment overlay, the geography, and the focus of the work (below).

Working Together
Hours & Overlap
The PH team works to the AU clock — effectively one shared working day.

Everything runs on Brisbane time. The AU day is 8:00am–5:00pm; the PH team works 6:00am–3:00pm PH local, which is the same Brisbane 8–5 window (PH is 2 hours behind Brisbane). So there's effectively full overlap — the two teams are online together for the whole working day, not a narrow window.

Full overlap is a real advantage: it means PH isn't a hand-off-and-wait offshore model — it's a single team working the same hours. Use it for live collaboration, not just async tasking. to explore: whether to shift any PH hours for end-of-day handoff coverage

Working Together
What PH Does (the split)
Where the PH team focuses, and what stays with the AU consultant.
PH owns

Sourcing, screening, and pitching Job Orders to candidates — specifically candidates that clients have asked to meet or whose CVs they've requested. The delivery engine: find, qualify and engage the talent.

AU owns

The client relationship and BD — winning the work, the Client Briefing, running the client side of the deal, and the commercial close.

This plays to each side's strength: PH drives high-quality, high-volume candidate delivery to the AU clock; AU consultants stay focused on client-facing BD and managing the deal. Both run the same M1–M4 craft.

Working Together
Rhythm & Coaching
The cadence that keeps the PH team connected and developing.
  • Weekly coaching (Mondays) with Adam — a standing development session for the PH team.
  • Daily standup / huddle — a short live catch-up between AU & PH (full overlap makes this easy). to formalise: time, format, who runs it per desk
  • Desk-level inclusion — PH consultants join their assigned desk's rhythm (huddle, reviews) the same as AU members (see L2).

This is an area to map out properly — the building blocks (Monday coaching + daily standup) are in place; worth setting a clear, written daily/weekly rhythm per desk so it's consistent. (See L1 coaching + L2 desk cadence.)

Working Together
Comms & Handoffs
How the teams stay connected and pass work cleanly.

Default channels (from the tech stack): Slack for chat, Aircall for calls, Google Meet/Calendar for meetings, the CRM for shared work state.

  • One accountable owner per Job Order / candidate / client, even when AU & PH both contribute.
  • Explicit handoffs — when work passes between AU & PH (e.g. PH delivers a screened, pitched shortlist to the AU consultant for client submission), state what's done, what's next, and who owns it now — in the CRM/Slack, not assumed.
  • Default to written & visible so both sides see the same picture.

With full-day overlap the cost of a clean handoff is low — but the discipline still matters: a screened candidate pitched by PH must reach the AU consultant with the full context to submit to the client.
